Power in the province is supplied from 2 220kV transformer stations (TSAs), including Vinh Yen station with 2 250MVA transformers and Vinh Tuong station with 2 250MVA transformers. Vinh Phuc Power Company currently manages the 110kV grid system including 14 TSAs with 26 transformers (MBAs), with a total capacity of 1,569MVA. In addition, there are 2 transformers with a total capacity of 103MVA located in Vinh Tuong 220kV station and 1 110kV station owned by customers with a total capacity of 2 50MVA transformers.
According to Vinh Phuc Electricity Company's assessment, in 2024, the maximum load capacity of the electricity load (Pmax) measured in the province is 865MW, approaching the maximum capacity of 220kV transformers in the whole province; the highest daily electricity consumption is recorded at 17 million kWh, an increase of 10% compared to 2023. In 2025, the province's Pmax is expected to increase to 950 - 1,000MW, of which the electricity load during the peak of hot weather will reach 969MW, an increase of 13% compared to 2024.
To ensure safe and stable power supply, from 2024 to present, Vinh Phuc Power Company has managed and implemented 37 power projects with a planned disbursement capital of VND 272.5 billion. By the end of 2024, the company has completed 20/37 projects, including the construction and renovation of 108.2km of medium-voltage lines, 93.6km of low-voltage lines; the construction of 80 new transformer stations with a total capacity of 29,160kVA; the renovation and capacity increase of 56 transformer stations with a total capacity of 25,700kVA.
In particular, Vinh Phuc Power Company has completed energizing 2 110kV power grid projects Vinh Yen and Phuc Yen; successfully energized 5 key power projects including Dong Soc 110kV power line and transformer station, Tam Duong 110kV power line and transformer station, Song Lo 110kV transformer station and branch, Yen Lac 110kV power line and transformer station, Yen Lac T1 + T2 transformer station.
In addition, through the deployment of digital devices and digital software, the company has automated the medium-voltage grid circuit to reduce the time for closing, cutting and isolating fault points; increased the application of technology in grid inspection and maintenance, and hot-wire repair; completed the renovation of 112.2 km of medium-voltage lines and 217.6 km of low-voltage lines, exceeding the assigned plan.
Implementing the plan to save electricity, adjust load, and shift electricity load, Vinh Phuc Electricity Company has worked directly with large production customers, with electricity consumption of 1 million kWh/year or more, to promote the electricity supply plan, encouraging the application of solutions to use electricity economically and effectively.
The company encourages customers to sign agreements to shift production times, avoiding peak hours during the day from May to August, and to reduce capacity usage when the power system encounters difficulties.
In addition, the Company has signed a commitment to save electricity with 100% of 4 customer groups including: Administrative and professional services, public lighting, industrial production and service business; established inspection teams for electricity use at production and business establishments, administrative and professional units and recommended that people limit the simultaneous use of electrical equipment during peak hours.
In order to improve the reliability of power supply, especially during the peak hot season in 2025, Vinh Phuc Power Company has developed a power supply plan in the province, approved by the Provincial People's Committee for situations of power shortage from 5 - 50% of the grid capacity when there is a national power shortage announcement. Organize the management and operation of the grid according to the regulations of Vietnam Electricity Group; strengthen the review, inspection, timely repair and maintenance of equipment on the grid before the rainy and stormy season, hot season.
Promote the application of science and technology, digital transformation in the management and operation of the power grid. In particular, increase the automation rate of the medium voltage grid DMS/DAS to automatically detect, isolate grid fault points and quickly restore power; build 110kV substations using digital technology and apply AI technology in technical management to analyze and detect incidents early.
Actively coordinate with relevant units to speed up the progress of key power grid infrastructure investment projects in the province, first of all, completing the energization of the 110kV Vinh Yen - Hoi Hop - Vinh Tuong line, the 500kV Vinh Yen substation project and the connection line in May 2025.
Continue to implement the plan to save electricity, adjust load and shift load, help reduce pressure on the power system during peak hours, ensure safe and stable power supply, contribute to completing the socio-economic development goals of the province, towards the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions according to the Government 's roadmap.
