Within the framework of the National Program on Trade Promotion in 2024, from August 22 to 23, 2024 in Can Tho City, the Department of Trade Promotion ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) organized a "Training course on digital business skills to develop brands and build images for businesses and cooperatives".
The training course was attended by Mr. Le Hoang Tai, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency - Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City and representatives of TikTok Shop Vietnam, representatives of trade and trade promotion agencies, organizations, press agencies and businesses, cooperatives and business households in the Mekong Delta.

In his opening speech, Mr. Le Hoang Tai, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency, said that the Mekong Delta is an important economic region, a region that concentrates on rice production and has favorable conditions for agricultural development, contributing a large amount of agricultural products to the country's exports. This is an area with a dense system of rivers and canals with many fruit-laden orchards, brackish water forests, large mangrove forests with biosphere reserves, national parks, and recognized nature reserves, etc.
In recent times, the Region's economy has grown strongly, the quality of growth has been improved with the proportion of industry and services increasing rapidly, affirming its position as the leading center for production and export of rice, rice and fruits in the country.
Therefore, in order to promote regional linkage activities and apply science and technology to improve production and business capacity in a circular direction, towards a green and sustainable economy, the Trade Promotion Agency has coordinated with TikTok, Alibaba.com, OSB (Alibaba.com Authorized Agent in Vietnam), reputable sellers on TikTok Shop and related units/individuals to organize a training program on digital business skills to develop brands and build images for businesses and cooperatives in the Mekong Delta region.
Attending and delivering a welcome speech at the training course, Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, shared more about the advantages and difficulties in applying information technology and digital transformation in trade promotion and export promotion activities in the locality so that management agencies, experts from the TikTok platform and reputable sellers could share experiences, provide advice, and support training to improve capacity and skills in trade promotion in the digital environment for businesses, cooperatives and business households in the Mekong Delta region.

To find feasible and effective solutions to convey to enterprises, cooperatives, and business households in the Mekong Delta, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duong, Deputy Director of the Center for Information Technology Application and Digital Transformation in Trade Promotion, Department of Trade Promotion, has approved a training program to support enterprises, cooperatives, and business households with important goals.
Specifically, support and promote the widespread application of digital transformation in trade promotion for businesses and the community, narrowing the gap between major cities and localities in the level of application of information technology and digital transformation in trade promotion.
In addition, through the program, the level of using information technology applications on smartphones, how to participate in digital platforms, livestream skills to promote product images, crop yields, products that meet export standards will be improved, thereby enhancing the brand value of Vietnamese agricultural products;
In particular, the training course helps train skills and provide direct guidance to businesses and cooperatives on how to sell online (Livestream), build booths on digital platforms; at the same time, it helps businesses and cooperatives practice direct sales operations, build videos to promote product brands, etc., helping to increase opportunities for successful trade connections and boost domestic consumption.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duong, Deputy Director of the Center for Information Technology Application and Digital Transformation in Trade Promotion, Department of Trade Promotion approved the program and coordinated the training course.
The training course content is systematically and scientifically designed, focusing on specific topics, guiding and supporting students to self-implement branding and business activities on digital platforms.
By applying business skills on digital platforms, businesses will improve the way they exploit tools and services on TikTok Shop and build scenarios to boost revenue and increase sales efficiency. Thereby, building customer trust in products, enhancing the value of Vietnamese brands, helping to increase opportunities for successful trade connections, promoting the development of the digital economy in rural agriculture, and promoting trade promotion activities in the digital environment.
At the end of the training course, students will practice Livestream sales with instructors from the TikTok Shop platform directly instructing and implementing. This is a practical method to help students quickly grasp the issues in implementing trade promotion activities in the digital environment, especially livestream sales activities.
