Improving the skills of preserving intangible cultural heritage for ethnic minorities

On the morning of October 31, in Muong Lat district, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Muong Lat district to organize the opening of a training course, professional development and teaching of intangible culture to ethnic minorities in the district.

Associate Professor, Doctor, Head of Tourism Department, Hanoi University of Culture, Bui Thanh Thuy, delivered the training content.

Many trainees including artisans, village elders, village chiefs, residents of tourist destinations, cultural officials and civil servants attended the training course.

The organization of training, professional development, and teaching of intangible culture to ethnic minorities in Thanh Hoa province is carried out according to Plan No. 2818/KH-SVHTTDL dated June 13, 2024 of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, under Project 6, National Target Program on socio -economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Thanh Hoa province in 2024.

Mr. Do Quang Trong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism delivered the opening speech at the training course.

The training course will provide additional professional knowledge, skills, and basic methods and skills in teaching intangible culture to ethnic minority students in Muong Lat district. Thereby, the program contributes to preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities, associated with tourism and socio-economic development.

The training course, professional development, and teaching of intangible culture attracted a large number of students to participate.

At the training course, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Thuy, Head of the Faculty of Tourism, Hanoi University of Culture, discussed with the students the topics of preserving and promoting the value of folk games, performances, and traditional festivals of ethnic minorities to serve tourism development; raising awareness of intangible culture and folk culture in community life...

The training course on professional skills and intangible culture for ethnic minorities in Muong Lat district will take place until November 3.
