This was announced by the General Director of the State Corporation Rostec Sergei Chemezov in an interview with Sputnik .
“You probably know the Zemledeliye remote minelaying system. This is an excellent combat vehicle that has proven its effectiveness in practice during special operations. Now we propose to increase its potential: it can be used simultaneously as a remote minelaying vehicle and an MLRS if equipped with a synchronized transport and launch container. The result was a container that allows launching rockets, similar to the Uragan systems or TOS-1, TOS-1A and TOS-2, called “Vozrozhdeniye” (Revival),” he said.
“In addition, we have conducted tests to confirm the correctness of the chosen method and the usefulness of the development project,” the Rostec General Director noted.
According to him, mass production of this MLRS system will begin in the first half of next year.
Thus, in just a few months, the Corporation received the first serial-produced two-caliber MLRS system capable of launching 140-mm mines and shooting down targets with 220-mm rockets, Chemezov summarized.
