RT reported on June 17 that the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Israel's continuous attacks on Iran are "illegal" and threaten global stability. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Israel's attack on Iran's nuclear facilities poses a threat to international security and risks pushing the world into disaster.
"Israel's repeated attacks on 'peaceful' nuclear facilities in Iran violate international law, create unacceptable threats to international security and risk plunging the world into a nuclear catastrophe," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on June 17.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that the escalating conflict risks further destabilizing the entire region, calling on the Israeli leadership to "come to its senses and immediately stop the raids on (Iran's) nuclear facilities."
It is known that one day before Israel attacked Iran on June 13, the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) declared that Iran had violated its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Just weeks earlier, media reports quoted unnamed diplomats as saying the US, UK, France and Germany were preparing to push the UN Nuclear Regulatory Council to declare that Iran had broken the NPT.
Meanwhile, Tehran has repeatedly stressed that its nuclear program is peaceful and accused Israel of using military force to "sabotage" Iran's negotiations with the US.
