View 12 planning options for Da Nang's central square

(Dan Tri) - Da Nang is seeking opinions on 12 architectural planning competition options for the Da Nang Central Square. From there, the optimal option will be selected as the basis for implementing the investment and construction design.

The Da Nang City Construction Technical Consulting Center (Da Nang Department of Construction) is seeking opinions on 12 plans participating in the competition "Architectural planning plan for the Square - Museum along the axis of the City Administrative Center - Bach Dang - Tran Phu and some related administrative headquarters" (abbreviated as the City Central Square). According to the plan, Da Nang Central Square is located in Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, with a total area of over 16.2 hectares. The city requires planning and designing the architecture and landscape of the area in accordance with the orientation of the approved Project to adjust the general planning of Da Nang to 2030, with a vision to 2045. This area has the special national relic of Dien Hai Citadel, so it is determined that this is a historical and cultural square, a place to record the mark of Da Nang people representing the people of the whole country taking the lead in the resistance war against foreign invaders, an address for historical and cultural education for the young generation.

In the picture is the AH68 competition plan, the main idea is the water surface expressed by the image of waves carrying the flavor of the coastal city, flowing into the heart of the city, soft, winding, stretching along both directions of the square, spreading and connecting with the Han River. The architectural layout of the diagonal lines of the square surface creates a feeling of endless openness.

The TK45 competition plan introduces Dragon Square, which carries within it the fusion of past and present, from the Dien Hai Citadel (a special national relic) standing firm against the enemy, to the firmly located administrative center, rising high to manage and turn the young city into one of the leading, exemplary cities in the country.

The BA35 competition plan with the intention of organizing the landscape architecture and urban design space is to establish a sacred space, using ritual axes to preserve, protect, and promote the historical, spiritual values and special political significance of Thanh Dien Hai Square.

HD01 project with the design inspiration of "Mountains - Water" and the design idea as a cultural - historical flow through the ups and downs of history, through space - time, connecting the profound values of the land and people of Da Nang.

MA22 project has a vision of becoming a space with a high urban image, with a unique place; harmonizing historical and contemporary landscape architecture, with diverse and dynamic cultural, political and festival activities, ensuring attractiveness, safety, security, sustainability, attracting residents and tourists.

QT23 project with a new proposed square style has a 3-layer vertical structure. The layers respectively take on the functions of technical infrastructure, service functions and the highest layer acts as the main square space.

QT43 project with design ideas from the story of Dragon and Phoenix, along with the fact that Da Nang has attached the symbol of Dragon Bridge, the desire to build more remaining pieces, this is the reason why the image of the Phoenix bird is taken as the main inspiration...

The core idea of the TL06 plan is to focus on expanding existing cultural and administrative spaces through the construction of squares and central axes towards the Han River.

Project VA81 with the overall concept of "Da Nang PIERS" includes: Park on both banks of Han River, creative and innovative activities, forming a multi-layered entertainment place, heritage area revitalization strategy, and a series of riverside experience journeys.

The UC24 project envisions a vibrant, sustainable central plaza along the river. The unique location of the Thanh Dien Hai Citadel creates a distinctive plaza and riverside promenade. Creating a public space that celebrates historical and cultural heritage while pushing the boundaries of creative design along the riverside promenade.

The total investment of the Da Nang Central Square project is expected to be over 1,000 billion VND, of which compensation costs are about 136 billion VND. The Da Nang Central Square project consists of 3 areas: Area A has an area of 10.69 hectares, bounded by Nguyen Chi Thanh, Ly Tu Trong, Quang Trung streets, the west bank of the Han River. Area B has an area of 2.37 hectares, at the Han River port marina. Area C has an area of 3.16 hectares, bounded by Tran Phu, Quang Trung streets, the west bank of the Han River, and the Han River bridge (including the Da Nang Museum, the Da Nang General Science Library).
