Resounding song in Truong Sa

During the journey to Truong Sa of working group No. 14, in addition to the practical gifts sent to the soldiers and people on the islands, it is impossible not to mention the spiritual gifts sent by the Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe to the island soldiers. The heartfelt dance and singing performances of the singers and dancers at the forefront of the waves and winds contributed to encouraging the cadres, soldiers and people of Truong Sa to successfully complete the task of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Sing with all your heart

After nearly 2 days at sea, Fisheries Surveillance Ship 491 arrived at its first destination, Song Tu Tay Island. While everyone was preparing their luggage to visit the island, members of the Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe were busy preparing equipment, sound equipment, musical instruments, and costumes to have the most impressive performance for the officers, soldiers, and people on the island. With the support of the soldiers, members of the Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe quickly set up a stage under the shade of coconut trees, banyan trees, and wind-blown trees, preparing for a cultural exchange with the island soldiers. In the middle of the vast ocean, the singers' voices rose up passionately. Mixed with the singing was the sound of clapping hands, blending with the murmuring waves. The members of the troupe and officers and soldiers held hands and walked in a circle to the rhythm of the song. Just before, they were strangers, but in just a moment, they became as familiar as family. The young soldiers went on stage together, "stirring up" with the singers and dancers to make the program even more fun.

Arriving at the islands: Da Thi, Co Lin, Len Dao, Sinh Ton, Truong Sa, Da Tay and DK-1 Platform in the following days, the singers and actors of the Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe still "burned" themselves out. At each island, everyone had about 2 hours to visit, encourage and exchange cultural performances with the island soldiers. Therefore, everyone tried their best to sing as much as possible, with the best and sweetest voices to send to the soldiers and people on the islands. Although there was not much time, the 10 members of the Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe tried to perform 20 dance and singing performances on each island. In response to that affection, the island soldiers sent flowers made from sea snails or newly planted square-leafed banyan trees to the troupe members. Standing on stage and finishing the song “Love of Soldiers”, singer Ha Thuc Uyen could not hold back her tears: “I have stood on stage with thousands of spectators, but standing on stage in the middle of Truong Sa, under the sovereignty marker to perform is very special. On a remote island, the navy soldiers and islanders, although their lives are still full of hardships and difficulties, are always full of enthusiasm. In the middle of the vast ocean with sun and wind, they are still as brave and resilient as the wind-blown trees. That is why I “burned” myself out, sang with all my heart, sending my feelings from the bottom of my heart to them.”

Love the sea and islands of our homeland more

For singer Hoai Thuong, this is the 7th time she has come to Truong Sa. It is also her fate, her sincere love for the island soldiers. Singer Hoai Thuong shared: “Every time I come to Truong Sa, it brings me very special emotions. In particular, being able to exchange art performances and sing with the navy soldiers right next to the sovereignty marker is a great honor for me. Truong Sa has always been a very special place in my heart. From the first time I came to Truong Sa, the image of the officers and soldiers guarding the sea and islands of the Fatherland day and night has always been deeply engraved in me. Every time I visit the island, I understand more about the hardships of the soldiers and love the sea and islands of my homeland Vietnam even more. Therefore, before going to Truong Sa, we practiced and prepared the performances very carefully and when we arrived at the island, we always tried to sing with all our hearts to send to the soldiers and people on the islands”.

Young singer My Ngan confided: “This is the first time I have visited and sung in Truong Sa. The first day I stepped on the ship, I was very nervous and excited, just hoping to quickly get to the islands and platforms. And when I arrived, I wished time would slow down so I could stay longer to interact, bring my songs and voice to the soldiers. If I have another chance to bring my feelings, songs and voices to Truong Sa again, I am always ready.”

Colonel Ngo Dinh Xuyen - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy said that every year, Truong Sa welcomes dozens of delegations to visit and work. Each delegation coming to Truong Sa, in addition to bringing the warmth and affection of the mainland, also brings songs and singing voices to interact with the island soldiers. During this 14th working trip, the singers and actors of the Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe devoted themselves and performed their best to send to the officers, soldiers and people on the islands. Hopefully, the warmth, affection and singing voices brought from the mainland will always echo on the distant islands...
