The Academy of Journalism and Communication also has requirements for candidates’ appearance. For example, candidates applying for the political theory lecturer training program must not have a lisp or stutter. Or candidates applying for the TV filming program must be in good health and not have eye defects. The minimum height is 1.58m for women and 1.62m for men.

In 2024, with the graduation exam score review method, the Academy of Journalism and Communication has two standard score scales of 30 and 40.
On a 30-point scale, Multimedia Communications has the highest score of 28.25 points in the C15 group (Literature, Mathematics and Social Sciences). Mass Communications has the second highest score of 28.05 points in the C15 group (Literature, Mathematics and Social Sciences). The remaining groups and majors generally score between 25 and 26 points.
