Among more than 20 summer activities at Ho Chi Minh City Zoo, the highlight is a series of stories about zoo "idols" that have "taken social networks by storm" recently.
Visitors to the zoo will hear interesting anecdotes about zoo "idols" such as the story of the raccoon Cong Thi Tai No "sneaking" into a container carrying pork from the US to Vietnam, the story of the bear Noel who looks strong but likes to be hugged and drink honey...
The zoo representative said these stories attracted a lot of public attention and contributed to building the zoo's brand.
Taking advantage of that, the zoo hopes to open a program called "Zookeepers tell stories" about the living habits of these "idols". At the same time, it also introduces the common characteristics of the species. From there, it spreads the message of wildlife conservation to visitors, especially children.
In addition, the zoo also focuses on opening up experiences to help children practice skills in a fresh natural environment, aiming to limit the use of electronic devices.
Children can come and learn to draw with artists who have experience teaching art to children.
Parents can also read books with their children for free with hundreds of diverse titles from fairy tales, skill books to famous literary works.
The zoo will also expand its friendly zoo, allowing children to interact directly with friendly animals such as meerkats, American squirrels, guinea pigs...
Especially from May 27 to June 1, the zoo organizes the program "Celebrate Doan Ngo Festival - Happy Children's Day" with many cultural and culinary activities such as painting conical hats, making traditional cakes, making pottery, identifying summer fruits with children... Free entrance after 5pm.
As one of the eight oldest zoos in the world, the Zoo is not only an attractive destination for tourists but also a placeto educate generations about the importance of nature conservation.
