As part of the plan towards three important milestones including the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, the 2026 Asian U23 qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam U22 team will gather at the same time as the Vietnam team during FIFA Days next June.

Accordingly, the list of players gathered this time includes 26 excellent young players from many domestic clubs. Most of them are familiar faces who have participated in previous gatherings and have been tested through international matches.

The mainstays include goalkeepers Hoa Xuan Tin and Cao Van Binh, defenders Ho Van Cuong and Nguyen Duc Anh, midfielders Dinh Xuan Tien and Nguyen Van Truong, and strikers Nguyen Quoc Viet and Nguyen Thanh Nhan...

The highlight of this gathering is the first appearance of Vietnamese-American striker Bui Alex, currently playing for the B team of Bohemians Praha 1905 Club in the Czech Republic Third Division.

Bui Alex, born in 2005 in Prague (Czech Republic), has both Vietnamese parents. He is 1m78 tall and impresses with his versatile playing style, able to take on many attacking positions such as winger, attacking midfielder or striker.

Having been trained in a European football environment, VFF assessed that Bui Alex has a solid technical foundation, good speed and the ability to handle the ball flexibly with both feet. This player used to be the main scorer in the Czech Republic youth teams, and scored 2 goals in the Third Division in 2025.

Adding a potential player like Bui Alex not only helps increase the depth of the squad, but also demonstrates the VFF's long-term strategic orientation in proactively integrating, searching for and developing quality overseas Vietnamese players for the national teams.

According to the plan, the U22 Vietnam team will continue to train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to strengthen their playing style, perfect their squad, and prepare for important upcoming goals.
