Life insurance industry continues to grow, BIDV MetLife completes new generation product and service ecosystem

After a period of stagnation, the Vietnamese life insurance market is recovering strongly in 2025. Grasping this trend, BIDV MetLife marked a strategic step forward with the launch of a new generation of product and customer service ecosystem "Proactively manage the future".

Signs of recovery in Vietnam's life insurance market

According to the Vietnam Insurance Association, there are currently 20 life insurance companies operating with total assets of the industry reaching about 1 million billion VND, reinvesting nearly 800 thousand billion VND into the economy . In the first 6 months of 2025, new insurance premium revenue increased by 8.6%, the number of new exploitation contracts reached nearly 900 thousand - showing that people's need for financial protection and accumulation continues to increase.

Speaking at the launching event of BIDV MetLife's new product ecosystem held on October 9 in Hanoi, Mr. Ngo Trung Dung - Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Insurance Association - commented: "After a difficult period, the Vietnamese life insurance market is gradually recovering. Insurance companies are continuously improving processes and products and promoting digital transformation to enhance customer experience. People's trust is gradually returning."

Mr. Dung said that one of the positive changes in the market this year is the separation of benefits attached to insurance products. This helps customers better understand the benefits and proactively choose the right solution for their needs. In addition, digital transformation continues to be a strong trend in 2025, helping to improve customer experience at all levels.

In that context, BIDV MetLife - a joint venture between MetLife Group (USA) and Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) - continues to affirm its pioneering position when officially launching the new generation product ecosystem "Proactive Future". The launching event was broadcast online on the fanpage of BIDV and BIDV MetLife, attracting hundreds of thousands of views, and was widely shared by the Vietnam Insurance Association and many prestigious electronic newspapers.

The ecosystem includes three main insurance products, three attached products and a comprehensive customer care service package. In which, the main products include: "Proactive Future" is a product with periodic premium payment, flexible between protection and accumulation; "Future Gift" is a one-time premium payment product, aimed at high-end customers with long-term protection and asset transfer; "Complete Journey" is a term solution, helping to proactively respond to risks.

Three additional products, including: “Hospital Support Insurance”, “Comprehensive Critical Illness Insurance” and “Enhanced Accident Insurance”, also help customers personalize a more comprehensive protection plan, meeting the increasingly diverse and specialized needs of each customer.

In particular, BIDV MetLife launched the service package "Physical Security - Strong Future" with benefits from consulting, health check-up to medical secretary - marking a step forward in comprehensive customer care in both finance and health.
