Reading Culture Festival in My Thanh

BTO-On the morning of April 25, at My Thanh Primary School (My Thanh Commune, Ham Thuan Nam District), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province coordinated with the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Nam District and the Provincial Library to organize the Reading Culture Festival 2025 and present bookshelves to disadvantaged schools. This is a meaningful activity in a series of activities responding to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day.

Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Le Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province, Ms. Mai Thi Ngoc Anh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Nam district, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh - Deputy Director in charge of the Provincial Library, representatives of provincial agencies, specialized departments of Ham Thuan Nam district, teachers and 113 students.

Mr. Nguyen Le Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province stated the significance of reading books and developing a reading culture in schools.

Here, the units presented 2 bookcases and books to My Thanh Primary School and Ham Can Secondary School, with nearly 1,500 books of all kinds, in the fields of science, history, literature, life skills, dictionaries... The source of books was mobilized and donated by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province, Binh Thuan Books and Equipment Joint Stock Company, and the Vietnam News Agency Resident Office in Binh Thuan. At the same time, the Organizing Committee presented 10 scholarships and 20 gifts of learning tools to students in difficult circumstances to encourage and motivate them to continue to try to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.

Students in difficult circumstances receive gifts and scholarships at the program.

Within the framework of the program, Binh Thuan Provincial Library organized a multimedia mobile library vehicle “Light of Knowledge” with many activities such as organizing quizzes on book titles, looking at pictures to guess book titles, telling stories based on books, free internet access, reading books in the school yard, etc. Thereby helping ethnic minority students access many different types of books and improve their Vietnamese, form reading habits, improve life skills, nurture their souls and develop their personalities.
