Nghe An province has issued guidelines on organizing the state funeral for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The People's Committee of Nghe An province has issued guidelines on the implementation of regulations regarding flag display and other related regulations concerning the organization of the State funeral for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

On July 22, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued document No. 6137/UBND-VX to provincial departments and agencies; and the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns regarding the State Funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Accordingly, based on the Announcement of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the organization of the State Funeral for Comrade General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (2 days: July 25 and 26, 2024), the Provincial People's Committee requests provincial departments, agencies, and the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns to implement the following contents:

Government agencies, offices, and public places throughout the province will fly flags at half-mast for two days of national mourning for Comrade General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (July 25 and 26, 2024).

A flag at half-mast is the national flag, with a mourning band (measuring 1/10 the width of the flag, with a length equal to the length of the flag, and only hoisted to 2/3 the height of the flagpole, secured with a black cloth band to prevent the flag from flying freely).

Provincial departments, agencies, and units; People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns are directed to instruct and guide the suspension or postponement of art programs, cultural and sports events, and public entertainment activities in the province during the two days of national mourning.
