Nghe An continues to lead the North Central Region in the E-commerce Development Index by 2025

On April 25, in Hanoi, the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) organized the Vietnam E-commerce Panorama Forum 2025 with the theme "Victory in the AI ​​era".

Vietnam E-commerce Panorama Forum (VOBF) is an annual event gathering a large e-commerce community organized under the direction of the Department of E-commerce & Digital Economy - Ministry of Industry and Trade .

After 8 years of organization, the forum has created a great influence in the community, becoming a valuable destination and many opportunities to meet, exchange, learn and update information, providing an overview of the e-commerce industry in Vietnam.

This year's event took place with the participation of more than 1,500 delegates from agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals operating in the field of e-commerce in Vietnam and internationally.

The highlight of the forum was the announcement ceremony of the 2025 E-commerce Index (EBI) rankings by locality. Nghe An continued to lead the North Central region and ranked 12th nationwide, up 4 places compared to 2024. This result reflects the province's outstanding efforts in promoting e-commerce applications, improving technology infrastructure and enhancing business competitiveness.

The EBI index is calculated based on three index components: Human resources and information technology infrastructure; B2C e-commerce transactions (business to consumer); B2B transactions (business to business). Based on the Network Readiness Assessment Framework applied to e-commerce of the Center for International Development at Harvard University.

As a state management agency, Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade, together with departments, branches, sectors and localities, has played an important role in policy making, issuing programs and plans, organizing training programs, training in e-commerce application skills and encouraging businesses to transform digitally.

According to the report, about 46% of businesses in Nghe An have their own websites, of which 75% have integrated online interaction features via Zalo and Facebook, helping to improve customer experience. In particular, the province's retail, agricultural and handicraft sectors have made good use of e-commerce to expand domestic and foreign markets.

To continue to maintain rapid and sustainable development momentum, the leader of Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade said that in the near future, the Department will continue to implement synchronous solutions such as: Strengthening cooperation with e-commerce platforms and technology platforms: Supporting local businesses to expand their markets through Shopper, TikTok, Lazada and international platforms such as Alibaba, Amazon... ; intensive training on online exporting; promoting green e-commerce...
