Khanh Hoa's bird's nest exploitation and processing profession is a national intangible cultural heritage.

VHO - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued Decision No. 3992/QD-BVHTTDL to include the profession of exploiting and processing bird's nests in Khanh Hoa in the List of national intangible cultural heritage.

The bird's nest industry in Khanh Hoa has a history of nearly 700 years, containing unique historical and cultural values, and is very important to the people. The knowledge of exploiting and processing bird's nests in the community is considered a valuable treasure that has both cultural value and significance for the local socio -economic development.

On the 10th day of the 5th lunar month every year, Khanh Hoa organizes the Bird's Nest Festival at Hon Noi (Yen Island in Nha Trang Bay) to commemorate the great merits of the ancestors who founded and developed the bird's nest industry. Khanh Hoa bird's nest is favored by consumers because of its high nutritional content, chewy, smooth white fibers and characteristic delicious flavor. The product is highly appreciated by domestic and foreign customers for its quality and has been exported to international markets such as Japan, the US, China, etc.
