A National Council will be established to develop a plan to restore treasures.

VHO - Hue City has just sent a document to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism asking for opinions on establishing a national council to evaluate and develop a plan to restore the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty Throne, which was recently damaged.

On May 28, speaking with Van Hoa , Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hue city, said that Hue city has just sent a document to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism asking for opinions on establishing a national council to evaluate and restore the Nguyen Dynasty Throne treasure.

There are two options proposed by Hue city: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism establishes a Council or the Ministry authorizes the People's Committee of Hue city to establish it and invites the leader of the Department of Cultural Heritage to be the Chairman of the Council.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also advised inviting 11 members to join the Council, including representatives of cultural management agencies, experts in research and restoration of antiques in Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City and Hue.

“We have discussed and the experts have agreed to participate. It is expected that when the Ministry gives a plan to establish the Council, it will hold a meeting this weekend,” Mr. Phan Thanh Hai informed.

The scientific council will assess the extent of damage, analyze and propose methods to restore the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty Throne, as well as make recommendations and solutions for regular protection and preservation.

According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, after receiving the Council's opinion, we will report to the Hue City People's Committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to ask for opinions on the implementation plan.

With the plan approved by the competent authorities, we will request the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to carry it out with the participation of artisans and close supervision to evaluate the technique, aesthetics, quality...

According to some experts, along with the restoration of the treasure this time, the Council should also consider preserving the damage to the Nguyen Dynasty Throne at the time of building the treasure dossier.
