Dinh Bac said: “The whole team is very excited and determined. It is hard to say anything in advance, but we will try our best to have a good start.”
When asked about the 3-0 victory of U23 Vietnam over U23 Laos in the opening match of the U23 Southeast Asian Championship last July, Dinh Bac emphasized: “Each tournament is a different story. The teams in the region have all improved, so tomorrow's match will definitely not be easy. We must concentrate to get the desired result.”
Being the vice-captain of the U22 Vietnam team for the first time, Dinh Bac expressed his pride: “It is both a responsibility and a joy. I will try my best to contribute to the team’s victories.”
Earlier, in the pre-match press conference, coach Kim Sang-sik said: “SEA Games is a very important tournament for Vietnam. Tomorrow is the first match and also a very important match. We will focus our maximum to achieve the immediate goal of passing the group stage.”

Evaluating the opponent U22 Laos, the head coach of U22 Vietnam was cautious: “The two teams have met many times. The last time Vietnam won, but under coach Ha Hyeok-jun, Laos has made remarkable progress. He has had a great influence on the playing style and team organization for Laos. I respect that very much.”
SEA Games 33 is considered an opportunity for Vietnamese men's football to reassert its position in the region. After only winning a bronze medal at SEA Games 32, U22 Vietnam is eager to return to the top.
The team's highest goal at the congress in Thailand is the gold medal, something Vietnamese football achieved in 2019 and 2022.
