Artist Le Tu worries about reformed opera
Meritorious Artist Le Tu is currently on the payroll of Tran Huu Trang Theater (HCMC). The male artist said that although his life is not too rich, it is comfortable, not as difficult as before. In addition to working at the theater, artist Le Tu also participates in provincial performances, festivals, and parties. Wherever the audience loves, the male artist is ready to appear.
"My life is normal, just enough to live on is enough. In recent years, the number of shows has decreased a lot due to the general economic difficulties, and art has also been affected. However, I still try to stick with the profession, as long as I can sing and bring cải lương closer to the public, I am happy," the male artist expressed.
While many other colleagues choose to do business or take on a second job to improve their income, Meritorious Artist Le Tu said he is an artist. The 7X male artist confided: "I am not used to doing business, I have only known how to do my job. If I have a second job, it is only teaching. Before, I was a lecturer at a theater school. But because my vocal cords were affected, I asked to return to the theater. Later, I plan to return to training work, passing on my experience to the younger generation."
Meritorious Artist Le Tu was born in 1975 in Dong Thap , in a family where both his paternal and maternal sides were talented artists. From a young age, he showed artistic talent early on, so his family encouraged him to pursue this career.

Artist Le Tu added that he occasionally teaches some young people who are talented and truly love Cai Luong. "I don't open formal classes. If I see someone who is capable, has a beautiful voice, and wants to pursue the profession, I am willing to teach them. If they love it but don't have the ability, I also advise them to reconsider. Because pursuing the profession is not simple, if you don't have the talent and determination, it will be difficult to pursue it for a long time," he said.
For Le Tu, Cai Luong has always been his lifelong love and passion. Witnessing many ups and downs of this traditional art form, the male artist cannot help but worry. The actor of the play Chiec Ao Thien Nga confided: "I hope Cai Luong will be maintained and loved by the audience more. Nowadays, the stage is no longer lit up every night like before, sometimes only performing once every half month or a month. Therefore, young artists lack space to perform, have few opportunities to practice and develop their skills. There are many people who know how to sing a few vọng cổ verses, but to become a professional Cai Luong artist is very rare. I cannot blame you guys, because life is difficult, and the stage is getting smaller and smaller. Many good plays can only be performed a few times, it's very sad".
However, Le Tu believes that Cai Luong will live forever if young artists are still passionate and the audience still loves it. "I also often encourage young people that if they love the profession, are passionate enough and pursue it seriously, they can still make a living with Cai Luong. The audience still loves Cai Luong very much," he affirmed.

Happy marriage with artist Ha Nhu
Behind the stage lights, Meritorious Artist Le Tu has a peaceful home with his wife, artist Ha Nhu. He revealed that they were each other's first love since their student days, and became husband and wife in 2000. That love lasted for 33 years, of which 25 years were spent as husband and wife, they have overcome many ups and downs together, accompanying each other both on stage and in everyday life.
Artist Le Tu's only son is currently 21 years old and is studying Marketing. He said that when he was young, his son had a talent for singing and participated in several art programs, but when he grew up, he did not want to follow his parents' career and was passionate about the fields of communications and event organization. The singer from Dong Thap said that he respected and supported his son's choice.
"Being the child of an artist is sometimes a disadvantage, because I am often busy and have little time to be close to him or teach him. But fortunately, my child is very obedient and independent. My husband and I just want him to study properly and become an adult before becoming successful. In the past, we also had a hard time, but now that he is almost graduating, everything is easier," he said.

Entering his 50s, artist Le Tu said he is lucky to still be in good health. In recent years, he and his wife no longer work day and night like before, but are selective when accepting shows. "There are shows that offer high salaries but are too tiring, so I refuse. Money is always needed, but health is still the most important. Sometimes you have to learn to slow down, because if you get sick, having a lot of money won't make you happy," he believes.
Talking about his current wish, artist Le Tu confided: "Now I just want to stay healthy so I can continue singing for a long time. I love my job and only know how to do art honestly. The glory and whether I become famous or not is not important to me. I can live with my job, be known by the audience, and still be able to sing at 50 years old, that is lucky. I am better than many friends who used to follow this career but had to give up. If I can stay, if I can live with my job, I have to cherish it and try my best."
