Artist Xuan Bac becomes Director of the Department of Performing Arts

People's Artist Xuan Bac - Director of Vietnam Drama Theater - was appointed Director of the Department of Performing Arts.

On the afternoon of October 30, Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented the decision to the artist. Mr. Dong said: "In the coming time, other personnel will replace artist Xuan Bac as director of the Vietnam Drama Theater".

Artist Xuan Bac, 48 years old, born in Phu Tho, graduated from Hanoi University of Theatre and Cinema, then worked at Vietnam Drama Theater. He participated in many films such as The Wood House Story, Waves at the Bottom of the River, The Reluctant Thief, Balance, The Distant Island, To be familiar face to the audience in the shows Meet at the weekend, Meet at the end of the year , participate as MC of the program Ask and answer questions, Catch the word from the picture. Actor associated with the role of Nam Tao in See you at the end of the year - Tao Quan 2004-2021.

The artist also participates in community activities, is the President of the Vietnam Young Artists Club, and a member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, term VII. In 2010, Xuan Bac was chosen as UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) Goodwill Ambassador for clean water and environmental sanitation.

In September 2016, actor Xuan Bac was appointed deputy director of the theater and took office as director of the unit in January 2021. Earlier this year, he was awarded by the State title People's Artist.

In November 2020, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh retired after three years as Director of the Department of Performing Arts. In January 2022, artist Tran Ly Ly took the position of Acting Director.
