'Suspect murdered 2-year-old child in Hanoi then texted to demand ransom'

On the evening of September 20, a source from VietNamNet reported that, according to information from the police, the suspect in the kidnapping of a 2-year-old child in Hanoi is Giap Thi Huyen Trang (born in 1996, in Viet Ngoc commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province).

Authorities believe the suspect may have jumped off the bridge to commit suicide because there was a camera recording the image of the person jumping off the bridge. However, according to the leader of Gia Lam District People's Committee, the police are still verifying further and will have official information.

In addition, this source also said: "Through initial investigation, suspect Giap Thi Huyen Trang harmed the 2-year-old child and then texted the victim's family demanding ransom."

That same evening, Hung Yen Provincial Police said they were coordinating with other agencies to investigate a kidnapping for property appropriation that occurred on September 19 in an urban area in Gia Lam District, Hanoi.

Previously, on September 19, Hung Yen Provincial Police received a request from Hanoi City Police to coordinate in verifying and arresting Giap Thi Huyen Trang (born in 1996, in Viet Ngoc commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province), a suspect in kidnapping NHTh. (born in 2021, in an urban area in Da Ton commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi city) for ransom.

Hung Yen Provincial Police have directed professional departments, district, town and city police to coordinate with Hanoi City Police to apply synchronous professional measures to verify, arrest the subject and rescue the child.

Through investigation, at around 11:30 a.m. on September 20, Hung Yen Provincial Police discovered Th.'s body in a fish pond belonging to Mr. NXT's family farm (born in 1961, in Me So commune, Van Giang district, Hung Yen province).

Immediately after discovery, Hung Yen Provincial Police coordinated with Hung Yen Provincial People's Procuracy to conduct a crime scene investigation, autopsy, and organize an investigation to clarify the case.
