On September 21, Viet Ngoc Commune Police (Tan Yen District, Bac Giang Province) said that the investigation agency of the District Police is coordinating to investigate, verify and search for Giap Thi Huyen Trang (27 years old, from Viet Ngoc Commune), the suspect in the kidnapping and murder of a 2-year-old girl in Hanoi .

Viet Ngoc Commune Police said Trang is the eldest of three children (two girls, one boy) in Chung Chinh village, Viet Ngoc commune.

"Trang is not married, the suspect's parents are gentle and hard-working people," said a representative of Viet Ngoc Commune Police.

Trang graduated from a teacher training college and then went to teach. However, after a while, due to low income, Trang quit her job to work as a factory worker.

During her time as a factory worker, Trang was said to have gotten into a large debt, possibly due to online gambling and cryptocurrency investments. Her parents had to pay hundreds of millions of dong on her behalf.

After that, Trang worked as a maid in Hanoi and rarely returned to her hometown.

Previously, on September 19, Hung Yen Provincial Police received information from Gia Lam District Police (Hanoi City) requesting support and investigation into a child kidnapping case. The victim was a 2-year-old girl.

On the morning of September 20, authorities found the child's body in Dong Que village, Me So commune, Van Giang district (Hung Yen). The suspect who kidnapped the child used to be the family's maid. After Trang stopped working as a maid, the family still hired her to take the child to and from daycare.

This subject blackmailed the victim's family for 1.5 billion VND and received 350 million VND.
