Cua Viet Town Police (Gio Linh District, Quang Tri ) has just verified and confirmed that there was no 'staged kidnapping of students' in front of the gate of Gio Viet Primary and Secondary School.

On the afternoon of February 10, information from the Cua Viet Town Police (Gio Linh District, Quang Tri) confirmed that there was no staged kidnapping of students in front of the gate of Gio Viet Primary and Secondary School as shared by some social media pages.

Previously, information about a "staged kidnapping" of students was spread on social media in front of the Gio Viet Primary and Secondary School. However, the information posted was due to misunderstandings from students and parents.

Gio Viet Primary and Secondary School

Mr. Vo Quoc Hung, Vice Principal of Gio Viet Primary and Secondary School, said information about the kidnapping of students in front of the school gate appeared on the evening of February 9 from a social network account named NTT.

"This personal page posted information on February 7 that after school, a student of the school waited for his mother to pick him up in front of the school gate. At this time, the student met a masked man driving a car but it did not affect him in any way. After returning home, perhaps the student was cautious so he told his mother that someone had kidnapped him," Mr. Hung said.

After hearing the child's story, the parent called and told a relative living abroad, who then posted a warning.

Working with the Cua Viet Town Police, the student said he made a mistake because he was more vigilant after his mother told him about the incident of a stranger picking up a student in Quang Tri Town on February 5.

Currently, the information about the incident has been verified by the Cua Viet Town Police, denied the information and notified to the people to avoid causing panic. At the same time, it is recommended that all people, before sharing information on social networks, need to verify the content clearly, to avoid posting false information.
