The Ministry of Science and Technology conducts training on cybersecurity and practical exercises.

On the morning of December 4, 2025, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) organized a training conference on cybersecurity and a practical exercise for its officials and employees.

Overview of the Conference.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Ngo Minh Phuoc, Deputy Director of the Information Technology Center, stated that the conference was held in a particularly important context, given that the Politburo had issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW in 2024 on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. The Government had also issued Decision No. 2629/QD-TTg dated December 1, 2025, approving the Digital Government Development Program, creating an important foundation to help ministries, sectors, and localities accelerate the modernization of digital infrastructure and platforms, and ensure cybersecurity in a unified and sustainable manner.

According to Mr. Ngo Minh Phuoc, in the context of widespread digital transformation, cybersecurity has become a mandatory requirement throughout all state management activities. The activities of the science and technology sector are increasingly dependent on digital infrastructure, data centers, shared information systems, data integration and sharing platforms, as well as the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and automation models.

This rapid development also comes with the risk of cyberattacks, data leaks, and information security incidents increasing in both number and sophistication. "State agencies in general, and the Ministry of Science and Technology in particular, are becoming targets of attacks more frequently. This requires us to proactively prevent, detect, respond to, and recover from incidents according to the 'four-layer' model stipulated in Directive No. 14/CT-TTg, Decision 05/2017/QD-TTg, and related guidelines," Mr. Phuoc emphasized.

The training conference was organized to raise awareness of information security among all officials and employees of the Ministry; and to enhance the professional capacity of the information technology and information security staff. In addition, the program also helps units standardize operational procedures, improve incident response plans, and enhance coordination among units within the Ministry.

Within the framework of the conference, representatives from CSP Technology and Solutions Joint Stock Company presented key topics such as an overview of cybersecurity, security models, common threats, modern security solutions, and technology trends.

According to the plan, a live-fire exercise will take place on December 5th to test the ability to respond to situations, assess the incident handling capabilities of the units, and further refine information security procedures.
