Accordingly, at around 7am, people living along the riverbank in the above area suddenly heard a loud noise. Many people rushed out of their homes before a 70m long section of the riverbank suddenly collapsed, taking with it the floors of 10 adjacent houses that had encroached on the river. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any human casualties.
Immediately after the landslide, local authorities and militia forces were present to assist people in evacuating their belongings from the dangerous area. Although the main house has not been washed away, the entire area is now under serious threat, forcing people to temporarily leave their homes.

Mr. Cu Minh Trong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cho Moi District, said that the initial cause was determined to be that this section of the river has many sharp bends and is strongly affected by the traffic of large-capacity boats. The risk of landslides continues to extend along the river for about 200m more.
According to a report from the People's Committee of Long Dien B Commune, the initial damage is estimated at about 2 billion VND. In the immediate future, each affected household will receive 2 million VND in support to overcome the immediate consequences. Families without a place to stay will be temporarily housed at public offices in the area.
Mr. Trong added that in the long term, the district is studying a plan to build a solid embankment to protect residential areas and riverside traffic routes.
