On May 18, Ms. Nguyen Bich Yen received the decision at VNU.
This is an important step to realize the development orientations of the Institute of Semiconductors and Advanced Materials, contributing to promoting the high-quality research - development - technology transfer ecosystem at VNU.
According to Ms. Nguyen Bich Yen, Vietnam has a special competitive advantage in the region to develop semiconductor technology. She commented that VNU has a favorable strategic position, suitable to become a connecting center for the development of semiconductor technology in Vietnam. In particular, high-quality human resources in related fields at VNU are the fundamental factor to develop this technology sustainably.
With her experience and reputation in the field of semiconductor materials, Ms. Nguyen Bich Yen will work with VNU to strengthen international cooperation, support training and develop core technologies to serve the Make in Vietnam strategy.
Ms. Nguyen Bich Yen is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and is one of the leading experts in the field of semiconductor technology.
Ms. Bich Yen is recognized for her leadership and success in developing advanced materials and CMOS technology for a variety of integrated circuit (IC) products. Since 1980, she has also played a key role in developing and transferring new technologies into production. Her inventions and patents have generated over $1 billion in revenue for both companies during her tenure.
She currently holds over 200 global patents and has authored/co-authored over 350 technical papers and book chapters on processes, integration, devices and IC circuits. She also serves on technical and executive committees of leading international conferences. She currently has an h-index of 58 with 11,919 citations in international scientific publications.
