Establishment of the Council for appraisal of the pre-feasibility study report of the Urban Railway Line No. 1 project

The Government established a Council to appraise the pre-feasibility study report of the Urban Railway Line No. 1 project.

The Council Chairman is the Minister of Finance . The Deputy Minister of Finance is the Vice Chairman of the Council. Council members include leaders of the ministries: Construction; National Defense; Public Security; Justice, Agriculture and Environment; Science and Technology; Industry and Trade; leaders of the People's Committees of Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong.

The Ministry of Finance is the standing body of the State Appraisal Council.

The Council is responsible for completing the appraisal report according to regulations, clearly affirming that the project's pre-feasibility study report is eligible for the Government's approval and submission to the National Assembly for decision on investment policy.

The urban railway project No. 1 starts at Station S1 (new city center) in Hoa Phu ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province; the end point is at Suoi Tien Bus Station (urban railway route No. 1 of Ho Chi Minh City) in Binh Thang ward, Di An city, Binh Duong province. The main line is expected to be 29.01km long, passing through 4 existing cities of Binh Duong province: Tan Uyen, Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An and Di An.

The formation of urban railway line No. 1, Binh Duong - Suoi Tien new city will link and connect Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong province, creating new development space, accelerating urban development and population and labor distribution along the route corridor.
