Efforts to find missing 6th grade boy on Lam River bank

People and authorities are trying to find H. who went missing on the river.

According to initial information, at around 12 noon on May 17, H. and a group of friends went to the Lam River area (through Village 1, Xuan Hong Commune) to play. While playing, H. is said to have slipped and fallen into an area with strong currents and whirlpools, possibly drowning and going missing.

Upon receiving the news, local authorities, rescue forces, people of Xuan Hong commune, and fishing boats from Nghi Xuan district and Nghe An province quickly launched a search, mobilizing many vehicles, dividing into groups to search day and night along the Lam River. However, up to now, H.'s whereabouts have not been determined.

Xuan Hong commune authorities have issued notices to neighboring localities and authorities in Ha Tinh and Nghe An provinces to coordinate and support the search.

It is known that H. is the second child in a family of three siblings, in difficult circumstances, his parents are farmers and construction workers, with unstable jobs.
