At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that Da Nang is identified as a major socio -economic center of the country, the nucleus of the urban chain and growth pole of the key economic region of the Central - Central Highlands.

The city's general goal by 2025 is to "Turn Da Nang city into a startup and innovation city", a major socio-economic center of the country; national defense - security and sovereignty over seas and islands are firmly guaranteed; striving to build a rich, beautiful, peaceful, civilized and modern city".

By 2030, Da Nang will continue to be built into one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia; by 2045, the city will become a large, ecological and smart urban area, a center for startups, innovation and a livable coastal city of Asian stature.

In particular, the city focuses on developing five key areas: tourism and high-quality services associated with resort real estate; seaports and aviation associated with logistics services; high-tech industry associated with building creative and start-up urban areas; information technology, electronics and telecommunications industry associated with the digital economy; high-tech agricultural products and fisheries.

Thanking the warm welcome of Da Nang city, Mayor of Nagoya (Japan) Takashi Kawamura expressed that the fluctuations in the currency market have caused the Japanese Yen to decrease, thus limiting the demand for tourism in many cities for Japanese people. Realizing that Da Nang is one of the suitable destinations, Mr. Takashi Kawamura wishes to speed up the process of realizing the direct flight connecting the two cities of Nagoya - Da Nang, meeting the ever-increasing demand of Vietnamese - Japanese tourists.

Agreeing with Mr. Takashi Kawamura's sharing, Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong expressed that, with the common foundation and wishes of both sides, he proposed that Chubu Nagoya International Airport (NGO) study the possibility of promoting the signing of a Cooperation Agreement on promoting the Da Nang - Nagoya flight route with Da Nang International Airport or Vietnam Airlines on the occasion of the Da Nang Meeting (on January 26, 2024) to promote the image, potential and strengths of the city; provide information to attract investment and promote international cooperation in areas of interest to the city, especially tourism, with the participation and witness of central ministries, branches, diplomatic agencies and other international organizations.
