Khanh Hoa - Located very close to Nha Trang city, Ha Lien village is likened to a lonely "oasis" because it is completely isolated from the city.
Located approximately 30km from Nha Trang city, Ha Lien village in Ninh Ha ward, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province, is one of the famous ancient villages known for its geographical location and unique cultural beauty. A unique feature of Ha Lien village is its location in the middle of Nha Phu lagoon, surrounded by aquaculture ponds. Viewed from above, Ha Lien appears like an "oasis" floating in the vast expanse of water. (Photo: Provided by the village) Being a photography enthusiast, Mr. Quoc Bao (46 years old, Nha Trang) recently explored the ancient village of Ha Lien. He affirmed that he was extremely impressed with the scenery, atmosphere, and the rhythm of life there. The only access road to the old Ha Lien village, now the Ha Lien residential area, is a single concrete road; residents and tourists must travel by boat or canoe if they choose other routes. A large open space at the beginning of the village serves as a communal area for residents to socialize and play sports . The scenery was peaceful, life was simple, and the cost of living was much cheaper than in the city,” the male tourist said. Photo: Provided by the interviewee. Ha Lien village possesses a traditional beauty thanks to its ancient architecture such as temples, pagodas, and tiled-roof houses. In addition, the image of a peaceful village surrounded by greenery and vast waterways creates a relaxing and "healing" feeling. Many tourists jokingly call it a lonely village because it is sparsely populated and isolated amidst the sea. Photo: Provided by the owner. According to Mr. Bao's observations, the villagers mainly engage in aquaculture and fishing, with crab being a famous specialty. Ha Lien village also cultivates many types of shrimp, crabs, and brackish water fish for export. Despite facing many difficulties, the lives of the villagers are generally not too hard. "There's usually a small market in the middle of the village, selling vegetables, food, and breakfast items in the morning. There's also a market in the afternoon, but with fewer stalls," Bao shared. With its unique geographical location and culture, Ha Lien village has great potential for developing ecotourism and community tourism and deserves to be known by more people. Seen from afar, the village looks like a landscape painting that seems to only appear in poetry, giving a feeling of peace and unreality, contrasting with the modern, bustling city.
