The elderly promote the role of "Old age - Bright example"

(QBĐT) - On the morning of June 23, the Provincial Association of the Elderly (NCT) held a conference to summarize the emulation movement "Old age - Bright example", period 2021-2025 and review the association's work in the first 6 months of 2025.

The province currently has more than 120,000 elderly members with 145 grassroots associations, nearly 1,100 branches and nearly 1,900 association groups. After 5 years of implementing the emulation movement "Old age - Bright example", the elderly associations at all levels have achieved many important results. The province has 248 intergenerational self-help clubs and nearly 1,400 cultural, artistic and sports clubs, attracting 54,370 elderly people to participate.

Elderly health care continues to receive attention. Every year, nearly 35,000 elderly people receive free health check-ups, consultations and medicines; 35,775 gifts are visited and presented to disadvantaged elderly people with a total value of over 19.5 billion VND.

In addition, the elderly continue to play an active role in building the political system, developing the economy, and reducing poverty. The whole province has 14,270 elderly people participating in the work of the Party, government, and mass organizations in villages, hamlets, and residential groups, and more than 7,410 elderly people are good at economics...

Individuals with outstanding achievements received certificates of merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly .

At the conference, 26 individuals were awarded by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association and the Quang Binh Provincial Elderly Association for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Old Age - Bright Example", period 2021-2025.
