Hanoi people waited for hours to welcome Buddha's relics
On the afternoon of May 13, a large number of Hanoians flocked to Quan Su Pagoda (Hoan Kiem District) to welcome the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni. Everyone was joyful and moved to witness the Buddha's relics enshrined here.

At around 4:30 p.m., the procession carrying Buddha's relics arrived at the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Cultural Palace (Hoan Kiem district). According to the plan, the Buddha's relics will be carried from Noi Bai airport, moving through the main roads of Hanoi capital such as: Vo Chi Cong - Kim Ma - Le Duan - Tran Nhan Tong - Tran Binh Trong and stopping at the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Cultural Palace, before being enshrined at Quan Su pagoda. The bustling atmosphere welcomed the procession of Buddha's relics on Quan Su street. Waiting for the procession from noon, Ms. Doan Thi Hao (Bac Tu Liem district) shared: “I came to Quan Su pagoda early to perform the ceremony and participate in the activities to prepare for the welcoming ceremony. I am very excited to be able to worship the Buddha’s relics.” “Not everyone has the opportunity to see the Buddha's relics with their own eyes before they are enshrined at Quan Su Pagoda,” said Ms. Hao. Buddhists pray sincerely as the procession moves past. Volunteers joined the security fence on both sides of the road happily welcoming the Buddha's relics. A large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and people watched the procession of Buddha's relics enter Quan Su Pagoda. It is expected that at 7:00 p.m. tonight, a procession of Buddha's relics will take place around Hoan Kiem Lake.
