In the last four consecutive SEA Games (29, 30, 31, 32), the Vietnamese table tennis team has contributed 1 gold medal to the achievements of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation. Therefore, in the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam Sports Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) set a target for Vietnamese table tennis to strive to win 1-2 gold medals.

Head of the High Performance Sports Department (Vietnam Sports Administration) Hoang Quoc Vinh said that after the 2025 National Table Tennis Championship, the National Table Tennis Team will be established. The team will include 3 coaches and 10 athletes (5 men, 5 women) who will train in China for 1-2 months to have comprehensive preparation for the Southeast Asian Games.

With its non-degradable nature, each single-use plastic product or plastic bag can exist for hundreds of years in the environment, causing long-term impacts on sustainable development. Therefore, the proposal to impose a special consumption tax on these products is a necessary and urgent measure to limit their use and promote green consumption habits in the community.

Deputy Head of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation Pham Thi Thanh Mai said that the drafting agency needs to carefully analyze and evaluate the impact of using plastic bags on health and the environment, and move towards stopping the production of plastic bags to protect the environment.

Professor, Dr. Hoang Xuan Co, General Secretary of the Vietnam Environmental Economics Association analyzed: “Classifying waste at source is important in the waste treatment process. If organizations and individuals do a good job of classifying waste, and collection and treatment agencies have good collection and transportation plans, according to each type of waste, and bring the right type of waste to the appropriate treatment site, it will reduce costs and reduce environmental impacts.”

Particularly for the capital city of Hanoi, experts say the 2024 Capital Law is an effective legal basis to solve the problem of plastic waste.
