Hai Chau ward residents hope to soon restore Dien Hai citadel relic phase 2

The conference had representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - the investor; the Management Board of civil, industrial and technical infrastructure construction investment projects of the city - the project management unit; the contractor who created the design drawings for the relic restoration; leaders of Hai Chau ward and related organizations and individuals.

At the meeting, the consulting unit informed about the second phase of the project. In particular, it focused on introducing the items of restoration, renovation, preservation of architectural space, landscape and technical infrastructure system in the Dien Hai citadel area.

Specifically, phase 2 of the project is expected to be implemented from 2026 with a budget of nearly 82 billion VND from the city budget. During this phase, the inner citadel space will be restored with the following items: citadel wall; bridge, eastern gate; bridge, southern gate; statue of famous general Nguyen Tri Phuong; flagpole; outdoor exhibition areas...

At the conference, people expressed their consensus and high agreement with the design plan of the second phase project; at the same time, they hoped that the project would be implemented soon to promote the special historical and cultural value of the special national relic of Dien Hai citadel.

Many opinions suggest that construction units focus on ensuring the environment, electricity, water, and sanitation of surrounding areas, and minimizing impacts on residents' lives during the implementation process.

The activities of collecting opinions from the community where the relics are located are carried out in accordance with the provisions of Decree 208/2025/ND-CP of the Government (effective from September 1, 2025), to ensure publicity, transparency and consensus of the people before implementing projects to preserve historical and cultural relics.
