
According to the report of the Da Nang City Military Command, due to the impact of heavy rain on October 18, at the fetal grave area of Hoa Son Cemetery, a point of soil and rocks appeared, flowing down along the waterway, from the top of the mountain to the grave.
Forecasting continued heavy rain, with the potential risk of landslides at Hoa Son Cemetery and cracks in Tra Linh Commune of Da Nang City, the General Staff requested the Military Region 5 Command to direct the City Military Command to advise local Party committees and authorities to direct relevant departments, branches and sectors to organize inspections and reviews of landslide areas.
Organize the mobilization of forces and means to coordinate with local authorities and people to overcome the consequences caused by natural disasters.
Units have plans to prevent, combat and handle at main flow locations to dissipate energy for upcoming rains to minimize the possibility of further landslides. Put up warning and instruction signs; evacuate households living in dangerous areas to safe places.
On October 21, Da Nang Newspaper, Radio and Television published an article “Urgent response to landslides at Hoa Son Cemetery” noting the landslides threatening the safety of thousands of graves.
