On November 21, in the face of the serious flooding situation in the South Central provinces, Zalo SOS updated the "Map" feature to support emergency rescue and relief connection activities.
With "Zalo SOS Map", the location and status of people in need of emergency help will be displayed on the map in real time and classified according to cases that have been helped and are in need of help.
This makes it easier for rescuers and people nearby to identify areas in need of assistance and allocate resources appropriately. This also helps victims find help faster.
Currently, the Zalo SOS feature will be available in localities affected by natural disasters. People in danger can follow the instructions to have their information displayed on the "Zalo SOS Map" to help authorities and the community access quickly:

How to update information on Zalo SOS map
Step 1: Share your situation on Zalo SOS. Necessary information includes location, situation, and rescue/aid request.
Step 2: SOS information is automatically sent to "Zalo SOS Map" and displayed as a red dot at the corresponding location with detailed coordinate information.
Step 3: Authorities and the surrounding community can identify the alarm and use filters to identify the nearest victims.
Step 4: After completing the rescue, the rescue team will click the "Mark as assisted" button to update the rescue case status on the map, the red dot will turn green to indicate that the mission has been processed.
According to records, currently some agency fanpages have posted this information to help rescue work in flooded areas effectively.

Besides the Zalo SOS feature, Zalo has also actively coordinated with local authorities and management agencies to disseminate knowledge about types of natural disasters and prevention methods to people to minimize damage caused by natural disasters.
Every year, Zalo sends hundreds of millions of emergency messages about natural disasters to users. In collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment alone, 1 billion emergency messages were sent in 5 years.
