Ms. Phan Thi Diem, owner of Diem Bungalow, said: “My family started providing tourism services in 2023, with 1 homestay house and 6 bungalow rooms. During the buckwheat flower season, spring and festivals, the number of tourists coming to visit, experience and relax is often larger, with groups coming from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and even international visitors. Like many people in the village, I have researched, built a Tiktok channel, set up a Facebook, learned to take photos and film on my phone to promote my homestay based on traditional cultural beauty. Currently, my Tiktok channel has more than 16.3 thousand followers, with videos having nearly 50 thousand views. Through social networking sites, tourists know more about my family's homestay and also order Dao costumes that I personally embroider and weave.”
As one of the first households to open a homestay in Nam Dam village, Ms. Ly Thi Liem, owner of Toong homestay, shared: “My husband and I are young pioneers in applying technology and digital transformation to develop tourism. Right from the start, I created Instagram, Fanpage on Facebook, Tiktok, regularly sharing short videos about houses, meals, local products, wedding customs, coming-of-age ceremonies, love songs, and folk games. Those short videos created a surprisingly positive effect, touching viewers' emotions. In addition, I set up an account on Booking.com platforms to sell rooms to tourists. With a steady stream of visitors, my family's income has increased significantly, reaching more than 10 million VND/month. Along with that, we have linked up with a number of cooperatives in the area to diversify services for tourists such as: herbal baths, foot baths, selling herbs, brocades, and woven products".
