How many days off do workers get on September 2, 2024?

Officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers will have the 2024 National Day holiday from August 31 to September 3. For workers who do not belong to administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, or socio-political organizations, the employer decides to choose the 2024 National Day holiday option.

Previously, considering the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed with the proposal of this Ministry on the holiday from August 31, 2024 to September 3, 2024 on the occasion of National Day.

This year's holiday includes 2 official days off and 2 consecutive weekends, creating favorable conditions for people to have time to rest, relax and participate in activities celebrating the country's important holiday.

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs noted that agencies and units need to proactively arrange work, ensure continuous operation and serve people's needs well during the holiday. For units that do not have fixed holidays on Saturdays and Sundays, the holiday schedule will be flexibly adjusted according to their own plans.

Employees outside the administrative and career sectors will have one of two days off: Sunday (September 1) or Tuesday (September 3), as decided by the employer and notified at least 30 days in advance. In case the holiday coincides with a weekly day off, the employee will have the next working day off in lieu.

According to the Labor Code and Government Decree 145-2020, people who work on September 2 and other days during this holiday will receive higher wages than usual.

Specifically, day workers will receive at least 400% of their salary, including that day's salary and holiday pay. For night workers, the minimum wage will be 490%, including overtime, night work and holiday pay.

Level 1 aviation security control during National Day holiday

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just issued a decision on applying level 1 enhanced aviation security control measures at airports, airfields, and air traffic service facilities during the National Day holiday.

Valid from August 31 to September 3.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requests the Northern, Central and Southern Airports Authorities to notify the contents of this decision to aviation service providers and foreign airlines operating at airports.

In case of an unexpected incident, agencies and units must report immediately upon discovery according to the provisions of Directive No. 7572/CT-CHK dated December 29, 2023 of the Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on information and reporting of violations of aviation security regulations.

According to current regulations, when there is a high risk to aviation security, enhanced aviation security control measures are implemented at 3 levels, including level 1, level 2 and level 3.

Among them, level 1 is applied in cases of important political and social events of the country; with complicated political security and social order situations.

Level 2 is applied in cases where there is intelligence information about a plot to illegally interfere with civil aviation activities but the specific location, target, and time have not been determined; there is a serious political insecurity and social disorder situation in the locality.

Level 3 is applied in cases where there is authentic information about a plot to illegally interfere with civil aviation activities with a specific location, target, and time; there is a particularly serious situation of political insecurity and social disorder in the locality.
