With the life philosophy of "giving is forever", Ms. Nguyen Thi Vuong Oanh has registered to volunteer to donate her organs to medicine after her death.

One afternoon in June 2023, the office of the Red Cross Society of Ha Tinh province welcomed a very special guest - Ms. Nguyen Thi Vuong Oanh (born in 1992) from Hong Linh town who came to register to volunteer to donate organs.

Ms. Oanh was given detailed advice and instructions on the process and procedures for those who register to volunteer to donate organs for humanitarian purposes. After listening to the instructions, Ms. Oanh personally wrote an application to voluntarily donate organs to medicine after her death. Ms. Oanh's application was accepted by the Provincial Red Cross.

Sharing the reason for choosing this noble and humane act, Ms. Oanh said: “When I was in 12th grade, my father passed away in a traffic accident; 3 years later, my mother also passed away due to a serious illness. Having experienced the pain of losing a loved one and the events in my life, I always thought that I had to do something meaningful to help people and life. Witnessing many patients having to accept death because they had no organs for transplant, I decided to register to volunteer to donate organs to medicine.”

Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society Mai Le Thuoc presented an organ donation registration card to Ms. Oanh.

In fact, donating body or organs after death is still a psychologically heavy and sensitive issue for many people. Therefore, the most difficult thing for organ donors and body donors to medicine is probably not overcoming themselves but often comes from the fear and disagreement of relatives and family.

As for Ms. Oanh, although her relatives were a bit surprised when they heard the news, they all understood, shared and respected her decision, because since childhood, Ms. Oanh has been known as a gentle and kind girl. For many years, she has devoted her heart and time to charity activities, helping people in difficult circumstances, abandoned children...
