Who replaced Shark Binh as General Director of NextTech Group?

(Dan Tri) - Shark Binh was arrested for allegedly "stealing money" from 30,000 investors. From April 2024 to present, NextTech Group has Mr. Dao Manh Dung as General Director.

As Dan Tri has just reported, Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh (also known as Shark Binh) has been prosecuted and temporarily detained. According to the police, from August to December 2021, Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh (Shark Binh) and his colleagues developed and promoted the "AntEx digital currency" project, calling for investment through the establishment of the "Next100 Blockchain" Fund with a commitment to invest 50 million USD in technology projects.

However, this is an unverified project, with signs of transaction manipulation to withdraw money. The founding team issued 33.2 billion AntEx tokens, sold to about 30,000 investors, earning about 117 billion VND.

Shark Binh was born in 1981 and is one of the famous businessmen in the technology field in Vietnam. In 2019, Mr. Binh participated in the game show Shark Tank, and the name Shark Binh also appeared from that time.

Associated with Shark Binh's career and reputation is NextTech Group, established in 2013, operating in the fields of fintech (finance - technology), e-commerce, logistics (management - transportation of goods), startup investment (startup businesses) with brands such as Nganluong.vn, BoxMe, mPOS, Vimo...

However, since 2022, Shark Binh has begun to share management rights at NextTech as there have been continuous changes in the positions of General Director and Legal Representative. Specifically, this position has been transferred from Mr. Dao Minh Phu to Mr. Dao Manh Dung (born in 1982), who has held the position since April 2024.

Mr. Dung was appointed as General Director and Legal Representative of NextTech shortly after Phuc An Hai Investment Company Limited appeared as a new shareholder, holding 0.5% of capital in the change of business registration in November 2023.

Phuc An Hai Investment Company Limited was established in August 2023 with a charter capital of 3.8 billion VND, with Mr. Dung as Director and Legal Representative. By July 2024, the company had increased its charter capital to 127 billion VND.

In addition, Mr. Dung is also the legal representative of a series of other enterprises, many of which are related to Shark Binh.

For example, Nextland Real Estate Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company; Univest Financial Technology Joint Stock Company; MD Management Services LLC; Nextfin Investment Joint Stock Company and Love Nest Vietnam Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Trading and Services Joint Stock Company... However, many companies have stopped operating or temporarily stopped doing business.

According to Hanoi Police, in May 2021, Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh and a number of associates contributed 5 billion VND (of which Mr. Binh contributed 2 billion) to develop the "AntEx digital currency" project, issuing 100 billion tokens. From August to November 2021, this group sold 33.2 billion tokens to about 30,000 investors, earning 4.5 million USDT (about 117 billion VND).

At the end of 2021, Mr. Binh continued to promote the project through the “Next100 Blockchain” Fund with a commitment to invest 50 million USD to strengthen investor confidence. The investigation results determined that the founding group withdrew money from 30,000 investor wallets, appropriating an exceptionally large amount of money.

The investigation agency has temporarily detained and frozen the money, securities accounts, and assets of the subjects, including nearly 600 taels of gold, 18 red books, 2 cars... with a total value of about 900 billion VND.

Currently, Hanoi Police are continuing to expand the investigation and clarify violations and wrongdoings related to member companies in the ecosystem of NextTech Group.
