Vietnamese people like hotels to have breakfast.

As culinary tourism becomes a prominent trend in Asia, more and more Vietnamese tourists prioritize choosing hotels that offer free breakfast and consider this an important factor in choosing a place to stay.

Not only is it a habit of resort guests, business travelers also increasingly consider breakfast a mandatory criterion when choosing a room.

Mr. Pham Duc Long (35 years old, a sales specialist in Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "I often have to go on business trips so I always prioritize hotels that include breakfast. Firstly, it saves time in the morning, secondly, it optimizes costs. Actually, hotel breakfast is not always delicious or rich, but it usually ensures quality and enough energy for a working day. If you find a place with a delicious breakfast, consider it lucky and worth coming back."

According to search data on the digital travel platform Agoda in August, the "breakfast included" filter was in the top 3 criteria used by Vietnamese people, just after "accommodation type" and "star rating". This habit reflects the need for convenience, value and a feeling of being cared for during each vacation of Vietnamese guests, the unit said.

"For Asian travelers, especially Vietnamese, free breakfast not only helps start the day more economically and fully, but also provides an opportunity to explore local cuisine , service culture and identity," said an Agoda representative. This trend also shows that culinary tourism is being upgraded, as hotels not only focus on rooms but also invest in menus, from traditional Vietnamese dishes such as pho, banh mi, sticky rice, to international options such as poached eggs or pancakes.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director of Agoda Vietnam shared: "Breakfast is not simply the first meal of the day but a bridge between tourists and local flavors and culture. More and more Vietnamese people prioritize booking rooms with breakfast because they understand the practical value and the feeling of being welcomed that this service brings"./.

According to a survey, 67% of Vietnamese travelers choose hotels with free breakfast. The survey was conducted on more than 25,000 Agoda users in 6 Asian markets, in which Vietnam is in the top 3 countries with the highest rate of searching for the "breakfast included" filter.
