Nguyen Tuan Anh entered the APGC Junior Championship 2025 in good form, having just won the Faldo Series Asia 2025 at Laguna Golf Lang Co. The 16-year-old golfer continued his impressive form at the continental junior tournament, leading after the first two rounds with scores of 65 and 69 respectively.
In the decisive round on May 29, Tuan Anh started well and maintained his lead with a score of -2 after 9 holes. However, unfortunate mistakes at holes 12 and 15 reduced the gap between him and the chasing group to only 1 stroke.
The drama was heightened in the last two holes when Cooper More - the representative from New Zealand - had a spectacular breakthrough with two consecutive birdies at holes 17 and 18, thereby rising to the top of the rankings with a total score of -9.
Meanwhile, Tuan Anh could not maintain his pace, making another bogey at hole 17 and finishing the round with 72 strokes. With a total score of -7, Tuan Anh had to accept the runner-up position, 2 strokes behind the champion.
