Agriculture is at the heart of the transformation.
- Mr. Ambrosio N. Barros, Country Director of IFAD Vietnam & Head of Mekong Multi-Country Office, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)
Vietnam’s agricultural transformation is a major achievement. The first Doi Moi succeeded because it empowered farmers as change agents. Vietnam’s new era today requires similar collaboration between government , business, farmers and development partners.
As Vietnam implements its ambitious Green Growth Strategy, agriculture must be at the heart of the transformation. The potential rewards are enormous: a thriving rural economy , global leadership in sustainable food production, and continued progress toward high-income status.
The choice is clear. By embracing innovation and ensuring that no farmer is left behind in the digital revolution, Vietnam can write the next chapter in its remarkable development story – one where technology, tradition and sustainability thrive together.
With support from partners like IFAD, Vietnamese farmers can transform into leaders of a climate-smart, digitally empowered agriculture. They have proven their ability to feed the country, now with the right tools and policies, they can pioneer a global movement towards sustainable food production, setting a precedent for future generations. Together, we can build a resilient and prosperous agricultural landscape that not only meets the needs of today, but also protects the future.

Vietnam is a growing commercial hub in Southeast Asia.
- Ms. Ee-Hui Tan, Operations Director of FedEx Vietnam and Cambodia
With its strategic location, Vietnam is seen as a growing commercial hub in Southeast Asia. We predict that the logistics industry in the future will increasingly apply technology, sustainable development and innovation to improve efficiency and connectivity.
Vietnam’s strong economic growth is a key driver of the logistics industry. As the economy expands, demand for efficient logistics services to support trade, e-commerce, and supply chain management has also increased. This growth has attracted a lot of domestic and foreign investment, contributing to improving logistics infrastructure and capacity.
In addition, recent regulatory reforms have also played an important role in creating a more favorable environment for the logistics industry. A typical example is Vietnam's participation in free trade agreements (FTAs) such as RCEP, which helps expand the market, reduce trade barriers, promote the flow of goods, and increase logistics activities.
In 2025, FedEx will step up support for Vietnam's e-commerce market, enhance digital transformation to simplify shipping processes, and promote the application of AI and machine learning.

Speed up decision making and reduce administrative barriers.
- Mr. Chandan Singh, General Director of Hitachi Energy Vietnam
General Secretary To Lam set a target of achieving double-digit growth in the 2026-2030 period. To achieve this target, electricity demand needs to increase by 1.5 times (compared to GDP growth) or even more if aiming for carbon neutrality.
In recent years, Vietnam has made significant progress, especially in the legislative field. One of the notable points is the promulgation of the Electricity Law (amended), which will take effect from the beginning of 2025. Changes in the provisions on renewable energy development, competitive electricity markets and integration of new energy sources aim to enhance the law's enforceability and effectiveness, ensuring that electricity development policies are consistent with other relevant policies and the overall legal framework.
In addition to legislative reform, the Government is actively restructuring its operations, aiming to create a more efficient and responsive government structure, speed up decision-making and reduce administrative barriers, benefiting both businesses and citizens.
We have strong confidence in Vietnam’s growth. We will continue to make small-scale CAPEX investments to increase our footprint, contributing to Vietnam’s energy transition and carbon neutrality goals.
