On November 24, in Thua Thien-Hue, Hue University of Education chaired and coordinated with many universities and research institutes at home and abroad to organize the 4th international scientific conference on culture and education in 2023 (ICCE 2023).

Finding effective cultural value education solutions

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan said that this year the number of registered and submitted articles was 30% higher, affirming the attraction and importance of the conference.

Mr. Nhan believes that the preservation, maintenance and transmission of cultural values of the Vietnamese people as well as other peoples in the world is not only the responsibility of cultural workers but also of scientists and educators at universities, especially pedagogical schools.

On this occasion, many speakers, lecturers, and scientists from home and abroad gathered in Hue City to share theoretical and practical contents on cultural value education for people in the current context of international integration. Thereby, finding effective cultural value education solutions, integrating but still preserving the identity of each country and ethnic group.

The presentation by the group of authors from Hue University of Education on the topic "Building a program to educate Hue cultural values through experiential activities for high school students" was highly appreciated by the delegates.

ICCE 2023 Workshop Attracts Many Young People to Participate

The proposed solutions revolve around helping students have a full understanding of the content, role, and significance of the typical values of Hue culture; contributing to preserving, promoting, and disseminating Hue's cultural identity.

According to the group of authors, protecting, maintaining and developing Hue cultural values will serve as a fulcrum for creating new cultural values, and a basis for international cultural exchange. At the same time, this teaching activity responds to the trend of innovation in general education programs in our country in the current period.

Another idea from a group of researchers from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education suggests integrating cultural education through teaching Vietnamese in primary schools.

Specifically, the authors assert that culture and literature arouse in people the ability to discover beauty, perceive beauty, love beauty, and think, act, and create according to beauty. Therefore, cultural education for primary school students through teaching Vietnamese will create awareness, habits, and standard cultural behaviors...

Through this idea, educators can effectively use reading, storytelling, speaking, and listening materials to provide students with dynamic experiences and culturally rich lessons.
