The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance has just issued a document informing about the operations of the Coca-Cola factory located on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Linh Xuan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Department of Finance, the project of Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam Company Limited has a project operation period of 30 years from September 27, 1995 and on September 27, the project will expire.
On February 20, Coca-Cola Vietnam issued a written commitment not to implement the project's operational objectives. According to the 2020 Investment Law, investors must carry out procedures to terminate the investment project when the project's operational period expires (until September 27, 2025).
The Department of Finance said that investors are allowed to continue using the land for 24 months from the date the investment project is terminated according to the provisions of the law on investment.
"Thus, after completing the procedures to terminate the investment project, the investor is allowed to continue using the land for another 24 months from the date the investment project is terminated to liquidate the project, handle land use rights as well as assets on the land according to the law," the Department of Finance informed.
Previously, the investor sent a document to Ho Chi Minh City, requesting a 2-year extension from September 27, 2025 to use the land for the purpose of dismantling and relocating equipment, production lines, factories, warehouses and completing pollution treatment, environmental improvement, restoring the current status and handing over clean land.
In preparation for the closure of the factory in Ho Chi Minh City, on July 11, Coca-Cola Vietnam inaugurated a factory with a total investment capital of 136 million USD (more than 3,500 billion VND) in Phu An Thanh Industrial Park (Ben Luc, Tay Ninh ). This is also the first food and beverage factory to achieve LEED Gold certification in Vietnam.
The Tay Ninh factory covers an area of 19 hectares, the largest of Coca-Cola's three production facilities in Vietnam. The factory is equipped with five advanced bottling and bottling lines, with a total capacity of up to 1 billion liters of beverages per year.

The company has partnered with 1 million retailers, creating 4,000 direct jobs and about 20,000 indirect jobs nationwide.
