The content is in the report on the implementation of the Nha Trang Bay restoration plan of the Nha Trang City People's Committee. More than a year ago, the Bay Management Board stopped swimming, diving, and glass-bottom boats and rafts in the Hon Mun area.
Mr. Huynh Binh Thai, Head of Nha Trang Bay Management Board, said that the Institute of Oceanography will coordinate, survey and re-evaluate the current state of coral reefs in Hon Mun. If the results are good, some locations on the island will be reopened for diving.
In the coming time, the bay management board will arrange temporary diving in the northeast area of Hon Rom (near Hon Mun) with a limited number of visitors. The board will be responsible for checking and monitoring the number of visitors to avoid overloading the ecosystem. Visitors participating in diving must have an international sports diving certificate.
Hon Mun is more than 10 km from the shore, located in the core of Nha Trang Bay conservation area (about 160 km2 wide). This place has many corals and rich, diverse ecosystems, famous diving sites, attracting tourists to scuba dive.
