V-League champions have new coach

Nam Dinh Green Steel Club appointed Mr. Mauro Jeronimo as head coach with the goal of bringing the Southern team back after poor performance since the beginning of the season.

On the afternoon of November 14, the homepage of Nam Dinh Steel Club announced the appointment of Mr. Mauro Jeronimo as the team's "captain".

Coach Mauro Jeronimo signed a 2-year contract with Nam Dinh Club.

The Southern football team announced: "Today, November 14, CEO Vu Hong Viet handed over the decision to appoint head coach to Mr. Mauro Jeronimo, a Portuguese military commander born in 1987."

Speaking at the launching ceremony, coach Mauro Jeronimo said: “I am very honored to work at Nam Dinh Green Steel. This is a quality team, well invested, with many good players. We will fight together to achieve the best results. This season, Nam Dinh Green Steel will participate in four arenas, both international and domestic. That is both a challenge and an honor. Not many teams in Vietnam have such an opportunity.”

The 1987-born coach used to lead PVF-CAND Club for many seasons. He recently left this team and then took on the role of Head of the youth training system of Viettel The Cong Club. However, the two sides terminated the contract 2 days ago.

In addition to changing the head coach position, Nam Dinh Club also restructured the management apparatus to increase operational efficiency. Mr. Vu Hong Viet holds the role of General Director of the company and Executive Director of the Club. The two deputy executive directors are Nguyen Quoc Phong and Lam Van Thoa, while Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien returns to the role of Technical Director.

On November 23, coach Mauro Jeronimo will officially make his debut at Thien Truong Stadium when Nam Dinh hosts Long An in the National Cup.
