Xuan Son and the Vietnamese team leave for Laos

On the morning of November 15, the Vietnamese team left their accommodation in Phu Tho to go to Laos to prepare for the second leg of Group F of the 3rd qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

The Vietnamese team arrived at Noi Bai Airport ( Hanoi ) at around 7:20 am. Coach Kim Sang Sik kept the same list of 23 players, including naturalized striker Nguyen Xuan Son.

At the airport, Xuan Son appeared with a striking appearance. He was easily recognized and called by many passengers and fans thanks to his tall figure, brown skin and bright smile.

Nearly a year ago, Nguyen Xuan Son also left Noi Bai airport with the Vietnamese team to Laos to prepare for the opening match of the 2024 ASEAN Cup group stage. At that time, Xuan Son was not allowed to play because he did not meet the regulations of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

As for the upcoming match against Laos, Xuan Son is likely to be allowed to play by coach Kim Sang Sik. He has fully recovered from his injury after 11 months of treatment. In the last four training sessions at the Phu Tho training camp, Xuan Son showed his effort and desire to contribute and was recognized by many teammates.

The Vietnamese team took flight VN921, taking off at 9:35, and is expected to arrive in Vientiane (Laos) at noon today (November 15). The team will rest in the afternoon of the same day because they had an internal match last night (November 14).

After that, Xuan Son and his teammates will have 3 days of training to prepare for the rematch against Laos. This match will take place on November 19. Vietnam is expected to win big because of its overwhelming strength, form and past record against Laos.

In Group F of the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, the Vietnam team is in second place with 9 points after 4 matches.
