Musician Nguyen Hoang Duy - a young music producer who is sought after today
* Reporter: Season 1 of "The Masked Singer" was considered quite successful. As a music consultant, did you feel any pressure when making season 2?
- Music producer Nguyen Hoang Duy: The pressure is huge when the crew set the goal that season 2 must be better than season 1. How to achieve that is a problem that one person cannot solve. But besides the pressure is the "fighting spirit" of everyone involved in producing this program.
Not only did the producers work together to plan out interesting surprises, but the masked people of season 2 also had their own plans, based on their experience watching season 1. Mystery piled on mystery, so I believe that there will be times when the audience watching the show will be "shocked" by the excitement.
* Where do you think those interesting mysteries and novelties come from?
-From completely new arrangements for songs that seem to have become familiar. From voices so impressive that the audience cannot tell who they are... That excitement comes from a typical overall picture of "The masked singer".
No exaggeration, because with just the first episode aired, we received a lot of excited discussion from the audience, while in season 1, it was not until episode 6 that the show started to create a buzz.
* Is there any mysterious factor that will be the explosion for "The Masked Singer" season 2?
-I can't reveal anything because the nature of the program is inherently "mysterious" from the name. Moreover, even the members of the program such as the advisory board including Toc Tien, Tran Thanh, Bui Bich Phuong... also have to "have a headache" to guess who the singer behind the mask is.
I think the "not knowing something" is what makes the show interesting. But I can confirm one thing, the crew always tries to create the most interesting moments for the audience through music.
Gone are the days when audiences had to listen to pre-recorded performances. Nowadays, everything has to be authentic to capture the audience's emotions. The singers wearing mascottes (masks) in "The Masked Singer" conquered the audience with their real voices without having to reveal themselves. Of course, all of those singers are beloved with huge fan bases.
He is the owner of the hit "Love follows the wind" by singer Hien Thuc.
* As a singer and then a musician with hit songs, why did you withdraw to the position of producer?
- Because I find myself more suited and charming to the job of a producer. I prefer to analyze a song in its entirety with all its details rather than enjoy a good piece of music as a whole. Adding musical notes and colors to a song myself, I find that much more interesting.
* How competitive is the music market today, sir?
- There is a lot of competition because everyone is good and hard-working. Above all, the time when one person could hold the whole market share is over. Nowadays, the pie is divided into small pieces, so to get a good piece of the pie, you have to be really good.
* But in return, being a producer is also easy to get rich, right?
- You get what you pay for. All measurements are relative. There is no fixed price. A quality product certainly deserves a commensurate price.
* You are a sought-after music producer, but there is information that you are also in the technology business these days?
- I am the creative director and deputy director of Omedia Company, which brought Bullet Time technology to Vietnam. This is a famous filming technology used in the movie Matrix, recording beautiful and impressive 360-degree scenes.
I have to pay a large amount of royalties for one year to exploit this technology in Vietnam. In return, we have exclusive rights to exploit it in the Asian region. That promises to create quality MV products in the near future for the Vietnamese music market.
