Many unique activities are included in the program "Through the Heritage Regions of Viet Bac".

The provinces of the Viet Bac region, including Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, and Ha Giang, have agreed to organize a regional-scale program in conjunction with several activities commemorating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Bac Kan province (August 24, 1949 - August 24, 2024).

The first highlight of the program is the joint organization of a conference to promote tourism destinations in the six provinces of Northern Vietnam and the 15th "Through the Heritage Regions of Northern Vietnam" program in Da Nang city on July 8th.

According to the People's Committee of Bac Kan province, promoting and introducing tourism in one of the country's largest tourism centers is an opportunity for provinces to connect, attract investment, and draw tourists to the Viet Bac region.

From July to August 2024, provinces will organize the preliminary and final rounds of the first "Viet Bac Beauty Queen" contest in 2024.

The final round will take place on the evening of August 29th at the outdoor stage in Bo Lu village, Nam Mau commune, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province.

The organizers hope that the first-ever "Miss Viet Bac" contest will create a highlight and a unique mark for the "Through the Heritage Regions of Viet Bac" program in the coming years.

From August 25th to 26th, the organizing committee will inaugurate the Bac Kan Province Open Mountain Bike Race, conquering the newly opened tourist route from Bac Kan city to Ba Be Lake.

From August 24-28, the program will feature the OCOP agricultural products and culinary culture festival of 6 provinces in the Viet Bac region at the Bac Kan Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, with 70 booths.

From August 24-29, an exhibition of paintings and photographs showcasing tourism in six provinces of Northern Vietnam will be held in Bac Kan city.

From August 20-25, provinces will organize a tour guide competition at specific locations with the theme "Experience a tour of Northern Vietnam".

Accordingly, each province will select "one destination" to organize cultural, sports, and tourism activities associated with the competition.

The organizing committee will form Famtrip groups to survey, learn about, familiarize themselves with, and evaluate the tour guide competition at each destination.

According to the People's Committee of Bac Kan province, the opening ceremony of the 15th "Through the Heritage Regions of Viet Bac" program – Bac Kan 2024 will take place at 8 PM on August 25th at the stage in the square of the Bac Kan Provincial Cultural Center.

In conjunction with the program, Bac Kan province also organized many activities to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Bac Kan province (August 24, 1949 - August 24, 2024).

Specifically, the music and fashion show program "Viet Bac's Imprint" will take place on the evening of August 24th in Bac Kan city.

The program showcasing cultural heritage items listed in the national intangible cultural heritage catalog will take place at 8 PM on August 26th in Bac Kan city, including: Luon Coi and Luon Sluong dances of the Tay people, Hat Sli dance of the Nung people, Hat Pa Dung dance of the Dao people, Hat Then-Dan Tinh dance of the Tay, Nung, and Thai people; the Khen dance of the Mong people; the Bat dance of the Tay people; and a performance of the art of decorating the costumes and patterns of the Red Dao people.

An exhibition of paintings and photographs commemorating the Liberation Day of Bac Kan province will take place from August 24-29 in Bac Kan city.

In addition, locals and tourists can participate in folk games at the Bac Kan Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center; kayak on Ba Be Lake; experience paragliding over the Ba Be tourist area; and experience hot air balloon rides in Bac Kan city.

According to the organizers, the "Through the Heritage Regions of Viet Bac" program, with its existing traditions and new highlight activities, will introduce and promote the tourism resources and potential of the six provinces in Viet Bac, contributing to the overall tourism development of the region.
