Many scientists attended the 3rd International Conference on Mechanobiology

On July 7, at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE, Quy Nhon Nam Ward, Gia Lai Province), the Vietnam Science Association in collaboration with research institutes and universities from France, Germany, Korea, and Singapore opened the 3rd International Conference on "Mechanobiology: From Basic Research to Application".

The conference gathered more than 100 scientists and young researchers from 25 countries, taking place over 5 days (from July 7 to 11).

The event invited 11 leading professors and scientists in the field of biology from the US, France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Australia, China... to directly present and chair scientific discussions.

Among them are Prof. Dennis Discher (University of Pennsylvania, USA) - a pioneer in tissue and cell mechanics; Prof. Song Li (University of California, Los Angeles, USA) - an expert in biotechnology and biomaterials; Dr. Yingxiao Wang (University of Southern California, USA) - a leading expert in biomedical engineering, molecular microbiology and immunology...

The workshop focused on 6 main topics: Cellular and molecular signaling; pathological development and biomedical applications; cell shaping and multicellular processes; biomaterials and bioengineering; single cell migration; theoretical biology.

This is an in-depth forum for researchers to share the latest scientific results in the field of biology; opening up opportunities for connection and cooperation between young Vietnamese scientists and international academia.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Huu Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Gia Lai province, said that biomechanics is a close connection between biology, physics, materials science and advanced biotechnology - opening up breakthrough opportunities for modern medicine and the healthcare industry.

“Hopefully, through this conference, the world's biologists will find new and innovative research directions to contribute to the common development of humanity. Young scientists and postgraduates in Vietnam and the world will also be inspired, develop their ideas and improve their research capacity," said Dr. Nguyen Huu Ha.

Opening of Astrophysics School in Vietnam

On the same day, the Vietnam Science Association in collaboration with the Vietnam Astronomy and Space Association opened the short-term training program "The 9th Vietnam School of Astrophysics (VSOA9)", with nearly 40 young students from 6 countries participating.

VSOA9 is directly taught by scientists from the University of Tokyo (Japan), the Center for Astrobiology (Spain), National Central University (Taiwan) and the Vietnam Space Center.

This year's school focuses on the formation and evolution of galaxies, combining theoretical lectures and practical analysis of observational data using modern technology.

Initiated in 2013, the Vietnam School of Astrophysics is an initiative that contributes to orienting and nurturing the young generation who love astronomy in Vietnam and the region, while creating a bridge with the international scientific community.
